Knott's Student Tickets

Students tickets are paid for with choir funds.  However, please let Mrs. Bird know if your child has a Knott's annual pass.

Additional Group Rate Tickets

Additional tickets for family members are available to order for a group rate of $40 by Thursday, May 4th at Music Express rehearsal.  Unfortunately, additional tickets may not be purchased after this date.  If you miss the deadline, tickets are available for purchase online ahead of time for as low as $43 here.

Money for group-rate tickets can be handed to Mrs. Bird at rehearsal or put in her mailbox at school (CASH ONLY, exact change please) in a labeled envelope with your name, the amount of cash enclosed and the number of tickets you wish to purchase.  Tickets will be handed to you or your child at Music Express rehearsal on Thursday, May 26th.

Field Trip Meeting

Our last rehearsal on May 26th will last from 4-4:30 p.m. (please note APPROXIMATE shortened time.)  We will have a meeting to answer any remaining questions you may have about the field trip and students will meet with their chaperones. I will hand out any pre-ordered tickets and then we will spend any remaining time running through our songs.

Transportation to Knott's

Students will be picked up at their school by bus between 8:30-9:00 a.m. and to travel to Knott's.

What to Wear

Picture
Students should come to school Friday morning wearing their Music Express uniform (Music Express shirt, blue jeans, sneakers.)  Please apply sunscreen on your child before they leave the house in the morning.

If it is a very warm day, shorts will be permitted to wear for the performance.

What to Bring

Students should bring a light backpack that will carry:
  • Money ON A CARD for food/drinks/souvenirs (at least $30)-  KNOTT'S NO LONGER ACCEPTS CASH AT THE PARK
    • Read more about this at https://www.knotts.com/cashless
  • a water bottle (highly recommended if it's warm, students get very thirsty!)
  • a sweatshirt (optional)
  • a hat (optional)
  • sunscreen (optional)

Performance

Our performance time is at 3:30 p.m. at the Calico Mine Stage with Music in Motion Honor Choir.  The stage is in Charleston Circle.  The performance will last about a half hour.

After the Performance

Important:  please let me know if your child will be returning on the bus at 7 p.m. or will be signed out by a designated adult after we perform when filling out the permission slip.

If your child will return on the bus with Mrs. Bird, they will remain with a chaperone until we meet at the Knott's exit at 7 p.m.  Students returning by bus will be dropped at Oak Mesa Elementary School around 8 p.m.  A Remind message will be sent out with an ETA when we leave Knott's.

Students being checked out by a designated adult are required to remain with their designated chaperone until after the performance.  Before a student can be released, a form held by the child’s chaperone MUST be signed by the adult assuming responsibility.  If they are not released to a parent, they will stay with a chaperone and return by bus at 7 p.m.

Joining Us at the Park?

Knott's parking is $25 (current online price).  All chaperones and any other parents attending should plan to meet us at the park entrance between 9:30-9:45 a.m. before we enter the park at 10:00 a.m.  Please be patient as it can take longer for buses to arrive at the park.

If you cannot get to Knott's until later in the day, you will need to get in touch with your child's chaperone once you are in the park and then coordinate with the chaperone to meet up with the group at a convenient time and location.  Chaperone phone numbers will be shared in the email in which I list the groups.

Medical Concerns?

Student medication and/or devices will be sent with Mrs. Bird to Knott's and given to chaperones for use during the day as necessary.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know and we will work together to make sure your child is given the care they need.

Stay in the Loop!

I will be sending out Remind messages throughout the day to keep everyone in the loop.  Please encourage anyone joining us at the park or anyone picking up your child at the end of the day to text @mexpress to the number 81010 if you haven't done so already.   In case of emergency, please text me via Remind (either via the app or by replying to a text) and I will get back to you ASAP.
Looking forward to a fun-filled day at Knott's!
