Fifth grade students who show good musicianship, behavior and attendance have the option to audition for Allegro the first half of their fifth grade year. Students must participate in school chorus or school band in order to participate in Allegro.
This select choir meets from October through December and performs varied repertoire, drawing from classical, sacred, and multicultural traditions, as well as from musical theatre and contemporary literature. Singers in Allegro (Italian for “brisk and lively”) demonstrate a practicing knowledge of singing posture, effective breathing for singing, and principles of diction and vowel modification.

Rehearsals
Students rehearse weekly from October through the December concert on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at La Verne Heights Elementary School. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from rehearsals. Carpools are encouraged.
