The Lion King is a 1994 American animated epic musical film, produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 32nd Disney animated feature film. The story takes place in a kingdom of lions in Africa and was influenced by William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Story

Mufasa is the king at Pride Rock and his son, Simba, is destined to take over the throne after him, but when Mufasa’s brother Scar hatches a plan to kill them both, the kingdom is thrown into turmoil. Though Scar’s plan succeeds in deposing Mufasa, young Simba lives and grows up with his friends Timon and Pumbaa, a meerkat and a warthog, in the jungle. One day, Simba encounters an old friend, Nala, and she convinces him to return to Pride Rock to claim the throne that is rightfully his and lead the kingdom back to order and prosperity.
